Ocean is contained in an enormous basin on the surface of the earth.There are five major oceans named as Pacific,Atlantic,Indian,Arctic and southern.The Pacific ocean  is the largest ocean in both surface area and volume.The next largest ocean is Atlantic and the smallest ocean is Arctic.

                

Ocean is a huge body of salt water. About 71% of the surface of the Earth is covered by the ocean.An estimated 97 %  of the water in the world is found in the ocean.
